Manners / Education

Dog training is key to developing a well balanced dog that is a pleasure to live with.

Every dog has the power to be great. Will yours? It's up to you. Both you and your dog bring the power to succeed in the training adventure. You bring the power to teach; your dog brings the power and eagerness to learn what you teach.

Crazy Jumpers Dog School offers three levels of education/manner classes. Classes are one hour a week for six weeks.

This class is for puppies aged 10 to 20 weeks. Vaccinations must be up-to-date.

Puppy Kindergarten emphasis is on producing people- and dog friendly dogs.
Class priorities are teaching bite inhibition (so your puppy develops a soft mouth), socializing your puppy to people and other dogs, temperament training, behaviour problem counseling and teaching basic manners, with all training interludes embedded in off-leash play.

We work with Dr. Ian Dunbar's positive and fun, lure-rewarding training methods and we highly recommend the following books from Dr. Ian Dunbar:

- Before you get your puppy and
- After you get your puppy

The e-books can be found and downloaded for free at

This class is intended for *quiet, people-friendly and dog-friendly dogs 5 months old and older.

(*dog-dog or dog-people aggressive dogs are too disruptive and potential dangerous in class and require an individual behaviour consultation. Barking dogs are very disruptie in class and require an individual behaviour consultation to teach "woof and shush")

In our basics manners classes we continue on their formal education from puppy kindergarten and we help owners and their puppies increasing reliability. Your dog will learn how to walk on a loose leash and how to follow off leash, focus, sit-, down- and stand-stay, leave it, how to settle and to come when called. Beside to manners training we are introducing some new tricks and fun games.

Training your dog can be fun. Learning how to communicate with your dog can be a joyful and inspiring experience of mutual empowerment. Positive reinforcement training opens the door to your dog's mind. It gives you and your dog the keys to understanding each other's culture.

Dog training is a life-long process. Remember, practice makes perfect!

Crazy Jumpers Dog School & Boarding brings the new program C.L.A.S.S. Canine Life and Social Skills to Manitoba to improve the lives of dogs and their owners.

* Training in a positive environment helps you build a better bond with your dog.

Rally obedience is an interactive dog sport that combines skills learned for basic and advanced Obedience exercises into a course where the dog and handler move from station to station completing each exercise. Teamwork and fun will be emphasized in this class! Rally is a terrific dog activity which helps build a positive working relationship between dog and owner.

In this class, we will continue advancing our dog's obedience skills as we learn the basics of Rally. Rally has become one of the most pupular dog sports over the past several years, with opportunities to compete.

To enroll this class your dog needs the following basic obedience skills: walk heel on the left side on a loose leash, with attention / eye contact, sit, down and stay.
